Under the provisions of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) you have the following rights in principle:

  • Right to information: You must be informed about which personal data is collected, processed and stored, and for what purpose.
  • Right of access: You may request a copy of the data stored about you and information about its processing from the controller.
  • Right to rectification: You may request the correction or completion of incorrect or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”): You may request that your data be deleted, provided there are no statutory retention obligations.
  • Right to restriction of processing: You may request that the processing of your data be restricted in certain cases (e.g. in the event of disputed data).
  • Right to data portability: You may request that your personal data be transmitted to you or another controller in a common, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object: You may object to the processing of your personal data – in particular for direct marketing or legitimate interest purposes.
  • Right not to be subject to solely automated decision-making: You may request not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that has legal effects (e.g. profiling).
  • Right to confidentiality (under Austrian interpretation): Your personal data must in principle be treated confidentially and may not be made accessible to third parties unlawfully.
  • These rights are governed by the GDPR, in particular Articles 12 to 22. To exercise most rights a request to the controller is required – who must respond in principle within one month; for complex requests this period may be extended to up to three months.
